I love travel, haunted things, and creepy parties that make me feel like I’m living in another time or dimension. That’s why I’ve put together a list of New Orleans nightclubs and parties made for horror lovers. These unique vampire, goth balls are to die for, but are also held annually.
So, grab your favorite leather or strap on your corset because these balls will make you quiver in all the right places. And the best part is, some of these happen for Halloween. So let’s go party.
1. Endless Night: New Orleans Vampire Ball

Endless Nights happen every Halloween weekend or around Halloween. This year, 2025, it’s the 31st and the 1st, at the House of Blues, one of the greatest New Orleans nightclubs. It will feature a vampire-themed masquerade ball showcasing the elegance of a Venetian masquerade and a vampire court, with live rock music and the flair of Burlesque Cabaret. The theme for 2025 is “Vampires of the Silver Screen.” The dress code at this New Orleans nightclub is strictly enforced, allowing for formal attire, vampire-inspired looks, baroque styles, steampunk, and more.
It’s more than just a ball. They’ll have live music, a bazaar to buy more creepy finds we all love, a best-dressed contest, and other nightly delights. It is a Vampire Ball you don’t want to miss.
2. Anne Rice Vampire Ball (AKA “Vampire Lestat Fan Club Ball”)

On Halloween night, New Orleans hosts an exciting event organized by the Anne Rice Vampire Lestat Fan Club. This will be the 37th Annual Ball, showcasing live (undead) music, a costume contest, an open bar, gourmet food, and more. It’s a perfect opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the New Orleans nightclubs while celebrating the spirit of the season. It’s a fun ritual that celebrates the creatures of the night, Anne Rice, and all Hallows Eve. Although a bit of a warning, ticket are pricey!
3. Dark Gift Alliance Hosted by The Coven of the Articulate Gathering

The Coven of the Articulate hosts an annual gathering in New Orleans, where vampires, witches, werewolves, fairies, and other mythic or creatures come together (gotta love all those monsters packed in one room). Held at an undead New Orleans nightclub, this event, while not as grand as some major balls, offers a unique experience that embraces the gothic and otherworldly atmosphere. Expect live music, an open bar, a raffle, and tarot readings. It’s not a creepy, dark festival if you don’t hear from a dead relative who’s been yearning to communicate from the other side.
4. HexFest: A Weekend of Witchery (Alternative Spiritual Conference, Not One of New Orleans Nightclubs)
Love withcraft and Voodoo? Then it’s time to discover HexFest: A Weekend of Witchery, taking place from August 7 to 9, 2026, in the French Quarter. This year, it’s hosted by Brian Cain, Christian Day, and the Witches of New Orleans. And it starts with a memorable Riverboat cruise dinner on the Mississippi River.
This two-day conference will allow you to dive into workshops and rituals surrounded by haunting architecture and rich history. The event includes presenters like witches, rootworkers, and Voodoo priests, each sharing their unique wisdom. Attendees can explore magical wares from local shops like Hex and Omen or connect in a charming courtyard garden.
This is your opportunity to deepen your understanding of Witchcraft in one of the city’s most magical settings, just steps away from a vibrant New Orleans nightclub scene!
Although it isn’t strictly a “vampire ball,” it falls within the alternative, gothic, and spiritual spectrum, making it an intriguing option for those interested in such themes. Attendees can also enjoy the lively atmosphere of the New Orleans nightclub scene nearby, enhancing the overall experience.
It’s an event that happens yearly every summer, in case you miss it this time around.
5. Creepy Fest at a New Orleans Nightclub

Ready for something a little more underground?
Creepy Fest is a four-day festival that happens in July. It celebrates punk music, metal, horror films, skateboarding, burlesque, and more, creating an electrifying atmosphere and shows.
Unlike formal balls, the festival embraces an underground alternative, horror, and goth vibe, attracting enthusiasts from various subcultures. With an active slogan that is “all about having fun and forgetting the bullshit for a while.”
It is typical of the New Orleans nightclub underground scene, where attendees can enjoy performances and connect with fellow fans.
6. VOODOOFEST (Not really a New Orleans Nightclub, Though)

VOODOOFEST happens every year on Halloween and is presented by Voodoo Authentical in the French Quarter. Although not really a festival (but rather an educational experience), this celebration aims at educating the public about the origins and the practice of Voodoo as it is today. It aims at reducing the stigma of what is otherwise known as a misunderstood religion.
It is a more spiritual and cultural experience than a typical vampire or goth ball. However, it still shares elements of the dark and mystical atmosphere that permeates many Halloween festivities, making it a unique event. In the event you wish to see the New Orleans nightclubs afterward, there are plenty around.
Admission is free (but donations are appreciated).
Ready to Party with the Undead?
Let’s pack our gear and party inside some of the best New Orleans nightclubs, or perhaps learn more about Voodoo and educate ourselves in the best way possible. These events happen yearly, and some are incredible and not to be missed. Are you ready? Let’s go.
Have you been to any of these? Let me know in the comments.
